The PCC are now collating letters of support to help us make the case for a full time vicar, and we are appealing to you as parishioners to write a letter of support.

There are many reasons why Tottington continues to need a full time vicar. Here are just a few:

• Tottington is a vibrant and growing community, it is not a community in decline.
• The Parish needs a dedicated spiritual leader who is available to provide guidance, support and pastoral care to all parishioners.
• Only with a full time vicar can we meet the growing need for pastoral support to combat loneliness and support an ageing population.
• It is vital someone is appointed on a full-time basis so they will have enough time to maintain and develop links into the numerous community groups and organisations.
• Having a local Vicar is much more than just having someone to officiate at church services on a Sunday.
• Tottington needs someone who has the time to dedicate to work throughout the community such as visiting local schools and businesses etc.
• A full time vicar in Tottington will be able to support and develop the wider mission community.
• The vicar of St Anne’s organises events where the Community comes together like Remembrance Sunday.
• The vicar should live within the community, at the vicarage, so they are accessible when people are in need of support and guidance.

Your own thoughts and words will also be more persuasive.

We are sure some of you will have other more personal and individual reasons to support the case for a full time vicar for Tottington. Perhaps these are based on your past experiences of the support offered by a full-time vicar and you could consider and express some of these in your own letter of support.
