The course was in fantastic condition – it was a pity that the golf was not as good for some of the teams. It was nice to welcome back some of our regulars, who have supported us from the first time we organised the event and this year we had some new faces. We have on couple who travel from London each year just to play. We must be doing something right!
However the disappointing thing was we only had seven teams entering this year. What a close contest it was, with only seven points separating the first three teams.
The event was won by Atherton’s Fresh Foods with Brighter Blinds coming second. Robbie Ashton and Ian Holden each won a prize for nearest pin.
We could never have staged this event without the help of all the people who gave their time freely throughout the day. So, whether you were a ball spotter, raffle ticket seller, or just general help, our grateful thanks go to you.
Our thanks also to Greenmount Golf Club, Yannis, who prepared the excellent food, the companies and people who entered teams, also the individuals who provided half-time refreshments and also raffle prizes.
The event raised £315, this going towards the continuing work on the Parish Hall. G & G
