What is S.A.L.V.E?

S.A.L.V.E. International is a British and Ugandan based charity working to get children off the streets in the Jinja district, eastern Uganda. Their ethos is “Support And Love Via Education”.

With the generous help of its supporters, S.A.L.V.E. works with children on the streets so they have the opportunity to leave their difficult pasts behind them and move forward, towards a brighter future.

The charity offers these children a chance to be resettled with their relatives or in another loving home environment, providing them with access to support, counselling and an all-round education.

A major part of S.A.L.V.E.’s work is done within the wider community, to improve opportunities for education and to work to tackle some of the reasons that children come to the streets in the first place. They do this through women’s empowerment and business skill programmes, fruit tree planting in local schools, and campaigning to challenge discrimination to uphold children’s rights.

With your help at St. Anne’s Church, S.A.L.V.E. wants to build a better future for the next generation because no child should have to live on the streets.

How can you help?

S.A.L.V.E. only exists because of people like you. People who are passionate about giving children who have been living on the streets a chance of an education and a brighter future.

Getting involved with S.A.L.V.E. is a chance for you to learn more about our work and to contribute whatever in whatever way you like. This could be anything; from time to money, from ideas to taking a child into your life.

Sponsor a child: from as little as £15 a month you will help to transform a child’s life.
Volunteer your time: in both the UK and Uganda you can share your skills to help S.A.L.V.E.
Fundraise: through events and sponsored challenges – a chance to get creative.
Donate: to give us the vital funds we need to continue our work.

Whatever you are able to share can make a huge difference. We are a small organisation with big ambitions to grow opportunities for a brighter future for the next generation. We can only do this with your help.

S.A.L.V.E.s heartfelt thanks goes to all the wonderful parishioners of St. Anne’s who have gotten involved with S.A.L.V.E. so far, including the amazing Sunday School children.
