Thirty one ladies met on Laurel St. Tottington for our annual August outing, this year to lovely Llandudno.

We have been twice before so we were highly delighted to be going again. To add to our enjoyment we had the pleasurable company of five friends from St. Hilda’s and four friends from St. Stephen’s MU off Bolton Road, Bury.

We arrived at the Grosvenor Garden Centre near Chester for morning coffee and a scone or for those with heartier appetites an ‘English breakfast’ or ‘eggs benedict’ or something similar. We had just over an hour for a little bit of shopping and or brunch. There were some lovely and unusual gift ideas as now seems customary at garden centres these days. We were back on the road again by 12 noon for the remainder of our journey. We made good time thanks to our coach driver David, as we approached Llandudno we were guided by the rain, however, as we began to journey down the promenade the rain began to cease. We were dropped off outside the Merrion Hotel where we would all be meeting up again later for afternoon tea.

Weather generally was a little mixed although I think most of us managed to dodge the showers. We all had free time to explore the shops, pier attractions, walking on the beach
or boat trips. There was even a Punch and Judy show!

We all met back at the Merrion at 3pm for a delicious and generous afternoon tea, with a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes and generous helpings of tea and coffee.

We all had an hour to revisit the sights or take a spin on the Ferris Wheel before our journey home and as we climbed aboard our coach the evening sun came out to greet us and thank us for our visit.
