More than forty ladies joined the coach at Laurel Street at 5.45pm on a lovely sunny evening for the trip to the Spread Eagle at Sawley. The driver took us the scenic route but listening to the buzz of everyone chatting (me included) I’m not sure if any of us were aware of the scenery!!
We arrived at the Spread Eagle and by the time we were all seated and drinks sorted it was time for the meal at 7.00pm. We had the lovely banqueting room to ourselves, overlooking the river and everyone agreed what a fantastic 2 or 3 course meal we had, served by a friendly & very efficient staff.
The meal ended with Alison saying Grace and thanking the staff for looking after us so well.
We left for home around 9.30pm and Mavis thanked Isobel & Margaret for organising the trip, and gave them a small gift on our behalf.
