On Wednesday 07 December 43 members of St Anne’s Mothers’ Union booked to attend our annual Christmas party at Greenmount Golf Club!
The occasion started with grace said by Isobel Hinchliffe. We were wined and dined beautifully by Scratch caterers followed by Tottington Brass Band accompanying us as we sang some traditional carols.
Donations were made on the night to two charities- the Mothers’ Union Christmas Appeal and a local Food Bank. Thank you all for your support, we collectively raised an amazing £235 from the 40 people that attended on the night!
The Manchester Diocese Advent Service was held on Thursday on 01 December at St. Ann’s Church, St. Ann’s Square, Manchester. We were all welcomed by our President Christine Sharp, with the service led by Venerable Karen Lund, Archdeacon of Manchester. Many people from across the diocese came along to join in worship and fellowship followed by coffee and mince pies, on this special occasion.
Afterwards some went on to visit the Christmas markets and enjoy the atmosphere in Manchester!
Mothers’ Union Branch Business
The Christmas Party started at 7:10 pm. We were welcomed by our branch leader, Alison.
Christmas greetings were received and shared from Marion, Sandra and Bridget.
Get Well Wishes were said for Cynthia’s husband and Sandra.
A thank you message was shared from Liz for her beautiful flowers received from the MU branch. Liz is making good progress and awaits further treatment in 2023.
