After the success of their previous charity event, ‘A Rough Sleep‘, the church group are organising what they hope will be a slightly warmer fundraiser!
This year they are inviting two teams of 26 to go head-to-head in a relay marathon. Each member of the team is to run one mile so that each team completes a marathon.
The event is in aid of Manchester based homeless charity, Barnabus, and you can help by donating sleeping bags, coats and toiletries. The runners would be grateful for your support so dig out an old coat or sleeping bag and come down for some tea and cake and to cheer on the ‘athletes’.
The event will take place on Sunday 3rd September from 1pm at Bury Athletics Track.
There will be no formal sponsorship but as mentioned above, the group are collecting coats and sleeping bags for the homeless.
Refreshments will be available, so if you are not running please bring your coats or bags and support the runners.
There is ample free parking on site.
